“La Burrita” (The Donkey) has arrived
Category : Mexico
We want to thank all of you who prayed and gave towards the purchase of “La Burrita”. Even the color matches that of a grey donkey! After searching the internet, this weekend we drove 8 hours plus to Guadalajara seeking a economical used van. We searched and searched but nothing good came up. We drove Mon. another 8 hours to Mexico City and found this van! We purchased it yesterday and drove a total of 11+ hours in two vehicles yesterday and today. This is a 2013 Toyota HIAce with about 30,000.00 miles on it. It actually cost about $4000.00 dollars over and above what had come in for the van. This we paid out of our pocket. We tried hard but could not find a 15 passenger van in good condition at a better price. We are so very thankful to all of you who were able and willing to give! If there is anyone or any church that was planning on giving but had not already, they can still send their gift toPresbyterian Evangelistic Fellowship, 100 5th St.,Suite 330, Bristol, TN 37620. You can earmark it for : van purchase. This would be a tremendous help!
Also, we will be using a very inquisitive donkey, a buzzard, an iguana, a frog and a fish tomorrow and Friday to present the Gospel as they tell the story of Mexico’s Independence and end by proclaiming that the only one of all the heroes of Independence who is still living and who can bring order and peace to Mexico is Jesus Christ!
Of course, this is a puppet presentation! the one on Thursday will be in a independence celebration promoted by the city of Zihuatanejo. The second, on Friday, the day that independence is celebrated, will be in the church. Please pray with us that the message will ring clear and cut through to the lives of leaders in the city government.
Thank you again for your prayers that have made transportation for the puppet/drama ministry a reality! We are truly amazed at God’s goodness through you!
Your obedient servant in Christ,
