MTW missionaries – Belize update December 2016
Category : Belize
We just returned to Belize after spending 12 days in the USA for meetings and a funeral in Florida and Thanksgiving in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The funeral was for Garry’s spiritual father, Stew Stewart, who poured countless hours discipling Garry in the faith and Christian ministry during his growing up years. We are grateful for Stew’s friendship and display of Christian love to our family!
Thanksgiving was spent with our three daughters, their husbands, and our five grandchildren. This was a special treat to have three days together as a family. It was busy, noisy, crowded, and a great time together.
Please be praying for us as we prepare to leave Belize in January 2017 for our Home Ministry Assignment and to become more involved in the Caribbean region for MTW. We have a full travel schedule this coming year. Anita will go to Trinidad with a medical team on January 14th. We will both travel to Cuba in February and Garry will also make a trip to Haiti. Garry expects to make trips to Jamaica, Grenada, Bahamas, and Belize later in the year.
The MTW Bahamas team will be on the field shortly. The team leaders, Julian and Christiana Russell, will arrive before Christmas and the John and Karen Stodghill hope to arrive in January. Please be praying for them as they make this transition and continue to assist those whose homes were damaged by Hurricane Matthew. There is still a need for funds to assist in both Haiti and the Bahamas. If you would like to contribute, the MTW website: www.mtw.org has a link to give online. If you prefer to give by mail you can send a check to: Mission to the World,
P.O. Box 2589, Suwanee, GA, 30024-0982. The Project Account number to help with hurricane relief in the Caribbean is: 93940.
God is moving in the Dominican Republic. MTW hopes to have a new family join the team of the Cohen and Cedeño families in the future and God is opening opportunities for theological education and church planting. We are excited to see what God has planned.
We do not often have to ask for new support or one-time gifts to our account because we have such a great support team. However, we are in need of one-time gifts to help offset travel expenses. If you could make a year-end gift this year it would be a great help. Thank you so much for your faithful giving both financially and especially in prayer. The website and address above is the same for our personal support account, however be sure to mark it for the “Chambers, account #11114.”
We pray that you will have a blessed Christmas as we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior!
6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
